how come chinese Martial arts got popular/introduced in russia?

like karate,judo and other martial arts ,in whole of russia and they know it so bad that i heard someone killing another man over local argument using martial arts .
i do not mean that The Martial Arts that people practice in russia came from china but china is kind of origin of such arts and these arts could have coome into russia from somewhere else also —i dont know.i want to know the origin of martial arts in russia and where did they comme from .
